The Missing Tapes

Here are the covers of the two-volume course:

This course originally came with 50 hours’ worth of language-laboratory tapes. Does anybody know where the tapes are? Please write to me if you have any clues as to the whereabouts of these tapes. Infinite thanks! The publisher does not have them. The authors do not have them. Only one library in the world is listed as having them, but the catalogue listings are obsolete, as the library discarded the tapes. Take a look:

I wrote to the University of South Florida, and received the following response:

This item does not appear in our USF Libraries Catalog, so it may have been an item that was weeded from our collection but where the record was not removed from WorldCat.

Lo and behold, I found a second listing, also at the University of South Florida:

So I wrote again to the University of South Florida, and received the following response:

I wanted to let you know that indeed these tapes were discarded, but the record was left in OCLC by mistake. We no longer own these items. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Where, oh where, oh where are those tapes? Help?
