A friend went to see Frenzy at the very first screening. He told me that it opened with an X rating tag, for no reason he could comprehend, and he further told me that two reels were shown in reverse order. The show stopped and a gal from the box office dashed into the auditorium to announce, “Okay, let’s take a vote. How many of you want to see those two reels again in the correct order? How many of you just want to watch the rest of the movie?”

I think this was the final ad in 1976.


The ad ran through Thursday, 10 March 1977, and that was the end of that.
